All the top teams in World SBK - including Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra of course - have packed their bags and travelled to Doha, Qatar, for a new series of Pirelli Development Tests at Losail Circuit from the 19th to 21st December.
This is the second Pirelli winter test and will once again be of paramount importance as teams work on their tyre strategy ahead of the eagerly awaited opening round of the championship at the same circuit on February 28th.
Last month in Valencia, Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra riders Max Biaggi and Yukio Kagayama came through the first official tests with flying colours, ending in first and third positions respectively.
It goes without saying that both Max and Yukio are going to Qatar with the firm intention of continuing their impressive build-up to the new season. Both will continue to develop the new GSX-R 1000 K7 and try to gain a psychological advantage over their competitors. Nevertheless, with one team from each major manufacturer taking part in these tests, competition should be fierce in Qatar.
However, Max and Yukio are more than ready to do battle with the likes of 2006 WSBK champion Troy Bayliss, former Team Alstare rider Troy Corser as well as SBK regulars James Toseland, Noriyuki Haga and Regis Laconi.
