Stage Six of the Dakar Rally saw the competitors race over 817KMs, although most of them will be pleased with the 225 KMs that were on the road.
It was also one of the closest races with the first three all finishing within a minute of each other.
Spain’s Jordi Viladoms finished the stage in 3:45:45 aboard his KTM only 57 seconds ahead of overall leader Marc Coma.
American Chris Blais finished in third a mere three seconds behind Coma in a time of 3:46:45.
Again it was a strong day for KTM with the first six bikes being theirs and in the overall standing they have the fist seven spots.
British rider Steve Malone finished in 88th place, his highest position and has pushed him up to 88th overall a leap of 19 positions from yesterday.
KTM’s Colin Askey crossed the line in 110 with a time of 5:27:37 which moves him back down to 149th overall.
Ian Myers came in closely behind in 118th with a time of 5:34:08 aboard his KTM and has moved him up 13 places to 160th.
England’s Paul Broome crossed the line in 6:12:08 in 153rd moving him to 143rd
Scoland’s Robbie Allen moved up to 170th overall with an impressive time of 5:45:51.
