Double World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss has completed a perfect three-day reign at the Phillip Island test, even signing off early after yet another record breaking lap.

The home hero steered his Ducati Xerox 999F07 and latest spec Pirellis to a stunning unofficial record of 1min 30.7secs on Monday morning, bettering his pacesetting day two time by 0.3secs and shattering his own official Phillip Island Superpole record by almost 1.5secs.

With his test programme complete, Troy packed up at lunchtime - but still dominated in his absence, ending the test with a 0.5secs advantage over team-mate and nearest rival Lorenzo Lanzi, as the pair underlined the 999's potential ahead of what is expected to be its final WSBK season.

Fastest of the non-Ducatis was again Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's James Toseland, who lapped half a second behind Lanzi but was impressive over a race distance. The Englishman in turn edged out Yamaha Italia's Troy Corser and PSG-1 Kawasaki's Regis Laconi by half a second, although former double world champion Corser had to rely on his day two time for the joint fourth slot.

There was also a tie for sixth position, just one tenth further behind, with Yukio Kagayama the leading Alstare Suzuki rider (courtesy of his day two time) but being matched to the nearest tenth by Laconi's young team-mate Fonsi Nieto.

After a strong start, Max Biaggi finished the test in the unexpectedly low position of eighth with a 1min 32.4secs best, set on day three, but the Alstare rider's race simulations at least provided a boost to the highly-focussed former MotoGP star's pre-season confidence.

The top ten was rounded out by Yamaha Italia's Noriyuki Haga, who also had to rely on his second day time, with Roberto Rolfo again the slowest of the ten riders present - although only 0.4secs from Haga.

In the World Supersport championship, the new batch of Pirelli tyres also helped slash lap times with Yamaha's Kevin Curtain and Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu evenly matched on a remarkable 1min 33.9secs.

On his own in third place came the Caracchi Ducati of Gianluca Nannelli, with a 1min 34.3secs, while reigning double champion - and three-time faller over the three day test - Sebastien Charpentier, was just fourth fastest on a 1min34.4secs.

Curtain's fellow Australian and team-mate Broc Parkes could not improve on his best time from Sunday and was thus left fifth fastest overall, on a 1min 34.8secs. Improving Hoegee Suzuki rider Barry Veneman scored a final best of sixth, with a 1min 35.6secs, as Gil Kawasaki's Fabien Foret posted a 1min 35.7secs. Team-mate Pere Riba was eighth, on a 1min 36secs flat, with Vesa Kallio ninth on a 1min 37.0secs for Suzuki.
