After a tough debut WSBK season with Foggy Petronas, during the underpowered FP1's final year of competition, Craig Jones will try to revive his career in the World Supersport series in 2007.
Carl Fogarty signed Jones, runner-up in the 2005 British Supersport championship and impressive during wild-card WSS rides, with the aim of helping to develop a future British star, but the 21-year-old faced an uphill challenge as he fought a 100cc engine capacity disadvantage around circuits he often hadn't seen before.
The outcome was a forgettable 27th in the championship with just one points-scoring finish, while highly-rated team-mate Steve Martin remained consistently out of reach.
However, according to the recently released 2007 World Supersport entry list, Jones will now return to the Ekerold Honda team - for whom he rode in 2005 - as it graduates from the British to the World championship. Ekerold won the 2006 British Supersport title with new Rizla Suzuki BSB rider Cal Crutchlow.
Foggy Racing is still to confirm if it has found the sponsorship necessary to continue in 2007. Martin has signed to ride for DFX Honda in WSBK.
