Hector Barbera was confirmed as the fastest man on track as rain all but wiped out the second day of testing in Jerez. The Spaniard had clocked a time of 1:43.451 on Monday, seven hundresths ahead of countryman and reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo.

The two Aprilia riders completed 93 laps apiece in mild conditions, with Andrea Divizioso completing the top three on his Humangest Honda.

Alex De Angelis, Thomas Luthi, Julian Simon, Shuhei Aoyama and Alvaro Bautista were all within a second of the front.

Hiroshi Aoyama circled the Jerez track a mammoth 109 times on Day One and was the quickest man the following day.

However, rain meant the KTM's best time was nearly two seconds slower than Barbera's best lap.

Six riders did not take to the track at all, with Repsol Honda packing up and leaving the track early.

Of those that did test, many completed relatively few laps - De Angelis, Dovizioso, Barbera and Roberto Locatelli all completing 21 or fewer circuits.

The 125cc teams take over at Jerez on Wednesday and Thursday, with the weekend belonging to the full MotoGP field.
