Sergio Gadea went fastest on a wet final day of 125cc World Championship testing at Jerez in Spain.
The 22-year-old Spaniard, who has been a consistent front-runner throughout the winter running, lapped the track in 1:59.565 – approximately ten seconds slower than a dry time – on his Aspar Aprilia.
Bradley Smith continued to show that Britain's hopes of a first GP win since Jeremy McWilliams in 250s six years ago are well intact with the second fastest time on his Repsol Honda, albeit a second behind Gadea.
Mike di Meglio was third fastest on his Humangest Honda, with Hector Faubel next up on the second Aspar bike.
Fifth was Sandro Cortese (Caffe latte Aprilia) while Randy Krummenacher served notice of his intent to run at the front right from the off with sixth aboard his KTM.
Lorenzo Zanetti (Sicilia Aprilia), Tomoyoshi Koyama (KTM), Joan Olive (Polaris World Aprilia) and Joey Litjens (Arie Molenaar Honda) completed the top ten.
Brit Danny Webb was 21st fastest on his Arie Molenaar machine.
First day pace-setter Mattia Pasini did not run at all.
