After the initial shock of learning on board cams are banned around the ring (gits) i now hear race cans are also banned?! Does anyone know if this is true? Going out there end of month for a week and will have to start cutting up road can now so it fits under me seat!! lol..

So long as you don't draw attention to yourself by revving the bollox off it in the car park and at the barriers, then you should be OK. I have ridden there with a race many times, it's reasonably loud but I always pootle from the barrier until the bridge.

They do noise test every now and then, but it is more of a token gesture so it's also perfect time for a coffee....if you're not around your bike when they come with the noise tester, then they won't do it.

I have seen them turn a Seirra away for being too noisy though, but he was being an ass and drawing attention to himself in the car park.

spot on. thats put my mind at rest... its a yoshi but to be honest sounds tame on tickover.. keeping head down around start is order of the day. maybe not so much for few of the other guys though. one has an open 2 into 1 system on an RSVR and the other a buell 12!! nevermind.. as for camera, we've all got them well hidden in fairings.. hehe..

I have always carried my standard can for the 'Just-in-case' situation though, but never had to put it on.

Just don't get caught with the camera - be carefull when powering it up / starting it incase someones sees you - do it down the road before the car-park, not in the car-park or just after the barriers where most peeps stop, that's just asking for trouble. I've never seen or heard of it, but I'm pretty sure they'll come down hard on you if caught filming. I've not filmed myself for that reason - didn't want to get all the way there and then get banned just because of filming myself, plenty of trackdays here for that.

If you are going to film though, beware of Kodak courage too, the 'Ring is not the place to have an accident if you want to walk away unscathed.

Have a wicked trip.

had an unsilenced yoshi race tri oval stubbly on a tho, loud as fekk, did not get pulled. since then donn scutineers made me a £35 baffle to let me use it on 95db days and never moved to standard since. you could then just pop in with single cross head screw, others do em too??

Yeah Mike but it was close as hell! I was watchin the marshalls with their fingers in their ears (honestly!) laughing and shaking their heads as you opened it up down the straight  Im not sure if they'd have let you out again  :p :D ;)

Perhaps the Germans do have a sence of humour afterall tho!

Didn't think your exhaust was that loud Mark, but I know mine is a bit fruity...

If that's the case, then my standard can will be going on from now on.
