Hi GJ's
Nice to see everyone who attended Cadwell Park on Monday, there was a very nice atmosphere to the whole day and an enjoyable one too.
I dont know if a thread of this kind has been started before but I run a track bike hire company and would like to give any GJ the opportunity to ask questions about the business or the ways it is run or any comments in general.
We offer a 10% discount to any GJ member on any hire of our bikes.
What we offer that is different to all the other hire bike companies is:
We do not take a deposit up front, the bikes can be hired between two people with only an extra £30.00 being required for the extra consumables used (i.e fuel, etc), and the bike you wish to hire is described in detail on the website.
We are a family business and our aim is to make your day as enjoyable as possible, experiencing how a factory rider feels for the day!!!! (We even make you cups of tea throughout the day) :)

Most companies ask for a higher amount of money if you bin it - £400 is IMHO a fair amount to ask for

Pete247 you are more than welcome to use our bikes, I will keep one aside in a couple of months!! :D
In response to the price of damaging the bike:
When you arrive at the circuit you are required to sign an indemnity form with us similar to the ones you sign with the trackday organiser. Attatched to our indemnity form is a parts price costing guide. This individually lists every part on the bike so if you have a low speed spill and damage a side panel, lever and and footpeg you will only be charged for these items according to the price list. Worst case scenario is the bike comes back in three bits then the maximum will take is £400. Yes it can still be a very expensive day but then you have to way up the costs you will incurr if this is your own machinery.
We do not take take any money up front because we do not wish anyone to fall off!!!!

Hi Morg,
I know the thousand mod is £500 to hire out but if hired between two people it is only any extra £30 for the extra person, so it turns out at about £265 each which is reasonable money for alot of bike.
The max liability cost is £750 which is higher than the other bikes but as the bike stands me at about £16000 I have to get a little bit more back if someone brings me back one ohlins fork leg with no bike attached!!! lol!!

just i would not pay extra!! not clear from your info you can hire between two, not sure of the business logic since you pay for tyres and petrol!! does look like a dream bike tho

I think that these bikes are very well priced considering the money they are worth. A £400 maximum payout seems very fair to me after potentially destroying the bike. As mentioned earlier a low speed spill on your own mint road bike could come in at well over a grand.

With that said doing a trackday on your own bike will teach you so much about the bike which I believe is invaluable. Providing you don't get drawn in to "challenges" and ride your own day you are IMO less likely to crash than you are on the road.

I think its a great idea though mate, and I for one would like to ride the modified 1000. Good luck mate ;)

I would think that it doesn't matter whether one person rides the bike or two. The bike is at the track allday so it might aswell get used. Not trying to step on your toes sboy but, I reckon he would have figured out his risks and profit margins.
Bikes look good from the photos fella:thumbsup:

Thanks Shilly39, :)
Your right about the tyres and fuel. It has to be included in the price as 90% of the other hire companys include this in their package so we have to remain competitive.
The idea of hiring a bike between two people on the same day is that it brings your cost down. Therefore it is a cheaper way for people to experience a trackday, then they can decide whether this kind of hobby/past time is for them or not.
In all honesty quite a few customers who hire our bikes go on to buy their own dedicated track bike and good luck to them. I thoroughy believe in using your own bike and getting the best out of it but we cater for the people who choose not to run the risk and have the hassle of maintaining or setting up a bike for the circuit.

Do you have reduced hire rates for evening sessions? I've been toying with the idea of an evening session for my first track time on a bike.

We cater for evening sessions. It would be £25.00 per session for the evening. So your looking at £75.00 for the standard GSXR minus your GJ 10% discount = £67.50

Looks a bloody good deal to me fella.

I would love to do a trackday, but daren't risk dumping my gixer cos I have about 2K more in it - than it would book at ;)

This way makes a lotta sense.

3 sisters - that is one crazy circuit - I did some Karting round there last year, that was manic enough.

It warrants balls the size of an elephant to do it on 2 wheels I reckon

Hi Greg,
There is a delivery charge to most of the circuits, check out www.smallboytrackbikes.co.uk for the details. However Oulton Park is free as it local to us.
If we have more than one customer at the venue we will share the transport cost between the people hiring the bikes as I do not wish to be making money on this I just need to cover my own fuel to deliver the bike(s).
Regards
Matt
