Dennis Hobbs on the Padgetts Honda took a well earned race win at Silverstone during the third round of the Maxxis Supersport Championship.

He was joined on the podium by the Relentless Suzuki riders of Ian Lowry and Michael Laverty in second and third respectively.

The safety car was deployed during the race due to Jamie Robinson crashing out, however when the yellow flags came out Billy McConnell passed Hobbs and due to this move he was penalised with a ride through penalty. So for McConnell his pole position start didn't translate into the result he had hoped for.

Ian Hutchinson on the Bike Animal Honda took a strong fourth place finish just ahead of the injured Tom Grant on the Virgin Media Yamaha. Grant crashed on Saturday chipping a bone in his ankle.

John McGuinness on the second Padgetts bike was sixth following his disappointing second row qualifying. The TT rider wasn't impressed as he was baulked on his fast lap which took him off the front row of the grid and put him back to the second row.

McConnell following his ride through still managed to finish seventh ahead of the Ducati rider Martin Jessopp. Stuart Easton on the MSS Discovery Kawasaki made a good recovery from a lowly qualifying to finish in ninth place, while Richard Cooper on the AIM Yamaha completed the top ten.
