View Full Version : New anglesey circuit?
Just wondering if anyone has rode it yet, i raced there on the 28th of may, just wondering what you think of it or if you were there that day?
:D
I know of a guy who's done a trackday there in his kit car. Reckoned it was awesome, there's a corkscrew type section that's meant to be a bit scary :D
I rode the coastal circuit which has the mini cork screw, its an amazing track, some really nice corners and loads of places for overtaking!
:D
2 pics, out of all the pics i got and the amount of time my knee and fairing was on the deck and they couldnt even get it on camera.

Dont suppose you saw the guy go down in front of me coming back up the hill for the left hander in race 5 (my first race), he tried to under cut me and went down, i have his paint on my fairings and i nudged him as he was sliding on his arse.
Stunning bike that mate, i fall in love every time i see it!

no didnt see that either was on the start straight by then :snowy: what did you think of the track then ?
Fantastic track, wasnt too keen on the wind though, i was there all weekend in rhosneiger camping and it was only on the tuesday when going home it wasnt windy, i would love to try the full circuit although the mini cork screw is ace.
You will love it!
How much is it costin for a track day there?
£135 for full track to be honest i think id rather do the coastal track but i need to get out on me new 750

had a great day yesterday at angelsey. a bit tricky to learn, as very few braking markers as the ircuit is quite bare..... just mud and grass waiting to grow. the weather was perfect, apart from a bit of sea mist that came in during the afternoon for a session. the track is very grippy, trashed my SC2 supercorsa pro, as it was just too soft for the heat and the track, will use an sc3 next time. will post up a few pics shortly. cant wait to go again.

I was there as well - I think I remember seeing your bike - do you have a silver Astra?
The lad I was with was running 1 43's in the inter/fast group.
Really enjoyed the day with the best part being that I only live 20 mins away - will be back there on the 9th July.

Theres a really good photo of the track, an aerial shot in the July issue of performance bikes, looks a good layout with plenty of run off areas, hopefully it will blossom and take its rightful place for more prestigeous meetings.
Yes - that is a good picture.
4 of the PB staff were there on Friday doing the trackday and writing an article on it.
Doubt if the standard of racing will exceed club level this year - the paddock is basically the same and is not good enogh for track days or club racing let alone anything better. Rumours have it that stage one of the paddock refurbishment will happen next winter.
The access road to the track - about a mile - is another major problem although further rumours say that they will build another road accross the fields and run a one way in, one way out system which would work.

yes thats me what bike was your mate on ?
He was on a GSXR 1000 K1 - unpainted white track fairing / standard tank - the bodywork makes the bike look a bit tatty but the money has been spent on the engine / chassis and it goes well for its age.
Will say hello if I see you there again.

Im think the same, they expect high hopes and want it to be a GP/Superbike track, not sure if it will get to that standard personally, the paddock defo needs some attention and would be nice to have some kerbs on apexes and run offs, i think its about perfect for track days and club meets!
