Anyone know about Nurburgring specifically? I think I'll have to call my insurance co and ask them what the score is. It is on a public road but I am not sure if it is classed as a motorsport event???

Check your policy - if it excludes de-restricted toll roads or mentions it specifically then you haven't got any cover.

If it's clear then you'll have cover - provided you comply with your companies rules on european travel.

I'm with Norwich Union and it's not excluded under my policy. I won't ring them in case they apply an exclusion cause (it's been known!).

Theres a company called CICA who do personal insurance which covers you for racing and trackdays, not your bike, but then your bike is a minor problem if your off work for a few months!
