as the title says..

thinking of booking brands for next week, if i can get a van sorted.
haven't done a trackday this late in the year, wondering what sort of insulation i'll need:confused:
guessing normal summer gear with an extra layer would be ok,as only out on the track 20 minutes an hour, what do you reckon

+1 although I'll whip the fleece off before I go out, gives me something warm to throw on then when I get in :)

what about tyre pressures?? was 4lb under road pressure a month ago and felt a bit of squirming on the rear..
guessing road pressure this time of the year or maybe couple of lbs lower

I tend to run around 30 front/rear (racetecs) raise or lower a little depending on ambient temp

I always wear EDZ understuff in hot or cold - definitely helps.

Ref tyre pressures, it depends what pace you run at - I'd suggest you talk to the tyre guy at the circuit on the day.

Snap. :D

Would rather be a little chilly to start with then be restricted with extra layers, and adrenaline soon warms you up anyway.
Winter track days are the biz and there dirt cheap too.

Did Donny GP the day after boxing day last year, and there were 17 people in the fast group. :D:D:D

Once you get going you soon warm up just have a jacket or fleece to put on when you get back into the oits to keep you warm,
The last TD I did when scotty and zuki were there after a session when I took my lid off my head was steaming !

sometimes better to run road biased tyres in winter as trac specials can have trouble getting to optium temp and bear in mind if using tyre warmers tyres can sometimes be colder 4/5 laps into session than when you first went out.

what would you normally wear on the road in the winter. take a layer off for the extra adrenalin and you'll be fine

get an edz windstopper extremley thin n worth it or go to a hiking shop and get a pertex windstopper and if your using vented summer gloves i`d change them to stop your hands going numb. wouldn`t wear to much once you get going you`l start heating up quick enuff

I'm doing Brands on Monday and had similar thoughts.

I've got a EDZ 2 piece undersuit so will wear that but also take a micro thermal top to put underneath too. I've also got some silk under gloves for my hands if necessary and if that's still not enough I'll then wear my thin rain jacket over the top. None of that will restrict my movement.

I think it's going to be off the bike that is going to be the time that cold sets in when the adrenalin dies down and you cool down. I've got a big fleece to go over my leathers and then I'll also take a wooley hat and gloves and it's the extremities (sp?) you need to look after.

In short, if you see an artic explorer on Monday, that's me!!

was there last week and it was cold when your off the bike, didnt notice it at all out on the track.
had some ski thermals under the leathers, no need for undergloves or under helmet, big fleece and hat for the hanging around bit and yuo'll be fine
