Ok this is the place to put your names if you would like to go to heaven on earth next year.

I'm starting this for two reasons.

1, to give me something to look forward to.

2, so I can get the numbers to the man that can

we're looking to be going August bank holiday weekend,The more the merrier.
If its something you have been thinking about doing just do it you won't forget it !

If you don't mind me offering a bit of advice... try to avoid the bank holiday weekends!!!

We went Easter '06 for 4 days and the weekend was mental... you just couldn't get anything like a decent lap in, traffic was queing for miles to get in. On the Saturday alone, there were 35 crashes it was so bl**dy busy. We ended up taking the local roads instead. Yet the 2 days following the weekend were much, much quieter

So try to get there midweek would be my advice (after you've checked it's open on the dates that you're looking at beforehand obviously )

And one other bit of advice... don't even think twice about going... just do it... best experience of my life so far... don't tell the missus :lmao:

Would love to join in, but prefer to go midweek rather than over a weekend, (too many nutters on the ring at weekends).

Maybe we could have more than one trip next year, a midweek one and a bank holiday one??

I am sure that a group of GSXR pilots from the UK may qualify a nutters as well!!! :)
If the ring is open mid week, think you are right though!!

Cant wait - Been waiting for this for a while now, be good to go with a group of UK nutters...i mean bikers!

True, but that leaves the day to sample the local roads which are pretty good especially in the Mosel/Rhine valley area.

Even a bit of tourism :)

It is only my preference based mostly on the fact that round the Nurburgring I am very aware I ride like an old woman!! Fastest lap last year was around 16minutes :(

I'm a maybe for this - depends whether or not Scotland beat Italy next month. IF we do I'm off to Austria & Switzerland but if we don't I'd be well up for visiting the land of stupidly named sausages with you folks.

Only just seen this thread... I can't think of a better way to spend a bank holiday weekend!

I'm probably gonna head out there around Easter if anyone is interested ? (might be more cars than bike if the weathers still bad)

I'll be going as I do every year but we usually go early in the summer and midweek. Better conditions with less traffic. We usually go last week of June.

I will hopefully be there mid July. I must agree that its always a better plan to go mid week, however, a weekend spent dodging supercars is so much fun.

Any weekend you're up for a blast, give us a shout. I'm living about an hour away from 'The Ring' at the moment, and would seriously recommend it to anyone who's not yet spent the best 19 Euros of their life!!!

As has already been said in this thread, watch out for weekend ring traffic. Putting the power down after apexing a corner, only to be confronted by the back end of a coach is not good.

Will be going out at least 4 times this year...1st one in May. 2nd in June, then August and Sept. He did a good lap on the Gixxer, but with no traffic like that, I reckon I could beat my own 8min 17sex. Keep on coming up against Germans in those Porsche things with a wheel in either corner !!!!

Hello ALL, just joined this forum as I have only recently got GSXR 1000K7. I have been to the ring several times in the last couple of yrs and I have to strongly agree with anyone who says DO NOT GO an August BH WE as the place is jam packed. Last yr we went on that WE and on the Sunday the track was closed more than it was open. Loads of crashes and oil on the track. Had a near miss myself for the 1st time. Waiting to pass a bmw, thought he'd pulled over to let me pass (on the left like your supposed to) BUT he hadn't DOH! So I dived up inside to only see him start to pull back over. All very exciting and got it on video. This yr we are lookin goin , at least partially midweek as its very quiet on an evening much better for Ring Virgins.

Actually, If anyone knows how to post a vid I could put up some of the laps with traffic on so you can see what I mean.
Hmmmm I'll have a look at youtube.

I will be going over on the 6th July with some fellow Junkies travelling from Hull. If anyone wants to tag along drop me a pm.

Here,s a steady half lap filmed July 07. It was jampacked then so the Bank Holiday sounds like a bit of a lottery for track time.

bsb comes round every year to cadwell, what would you rather do watch someone else ride or put yourself up against the most challenging track in the world ????????

I agree, I've done around 8 laps of the ring on 2 separate occasions in a rather quick car in the late 90's & all I can say is "there is nothing else like it anywhere" its the most exhilarating & challenging piece...BIG PIECE of tarmac in the world & 100pcent legal..Its a sure thing that for anyone who makes the trip will have the best time ever on a bike...

Jase what's the score these days when you get there. facilities etc....& do you still pay for each lap you want to do..

Ok , where do i put my name????

stealthman
28-02-2008, 18:02
You can pay for a single lap or buy in bulk which is cheaper.

Single lap 21 euros
4 lap ticket 70 e
8 lap ticket 135 e
15 lap ticket 235 e
25 lap ticket 370 e

I always buy a 25 lap ticket. If you don,t use em you can always sell em to your mates

I can't do the weekend of August bank holiday as my cousin is getting married. So, looks like 23rd and 24th it is closed anyway.... any new dates for this trip??

Do you have to book tickets in advance or is it just turn up and pay on the day? Can't see booking info on their website.
