Got a mate coming to tape the day and was thinking that footage of the start/finish straight would be pretty boring, It would be good to get some nice shots of knee down action from the inside of the track. Is this possible?

Might have to disguise him as a bush, and parachute him in the night before S.A.S stylee to get any good shots. lol

just use one of the two tunnels to get access to the infield... he'd obviosuly have to stay behind the fencing, but should be able to get some good footage

Even better if he gets to the INSIDE of Coppice, where the bikes are leaning in at you. Its THE place to watch MotoGP bikes from...

It's either there or Redgate then, and you're miles from the track there... Unless you've got a HUGE zoom lens...

Not to familier with the names for the corners. Where are the Foggy esses?

Foggy esses is the short and sweet left to right slow speed corners at the end of the Dunlop straight, as you head towards Melbourne hairpin.

Redgate is the very first corner and the craner curves are the fast flowing bends after it.

....After travelling 130 odd mph under the Dunlop tyre!

(Ok so for someone of your skill the esses will still be taken at my bikes top end ) However rest assure my bike is very slow.

Cheers for the track details fellas, reckon there's a few choices of corner now. Will have to send my mate out early to scout out the best corners. Gonna try to get him to get footage on a few different ones.

Standing by the aeroplane on the in field is a good place to film/watch because you can see/film people from Craner all the way up to Mcleans and if you have a half decent video camara you'll be able to see who's who as well as get the feel of just how fast they're going.

err ! Yes it can...

have done on several occasions before - my mate turned up with his big camera lens at just about every circuit in the country- including Donington and phographed the events.

access all (public) areas.

Just be careful stood by that 'plane. From what I saw on Sunday, it looks about ready to drop on someone's head! We don't want to add another casualty to WW2 at this late stage...
