REDILS

Donington saw a huge gixerjunkie turnout bright & early this morning. The weather has been somewhat wet with slight rain this morning although since lunchtime the track has been/is drying out nice.
Everyone seems to be enjoying the day on & off the track, the photo shoot went very well with so so many Suzuki's on the start/finish grid.
The more serious fun is now starting for the last few sessions in the dry.

Sorry its short & sweet, its just other things are beckening.

p.s only a few very small spills & no one injured so hope that stays the same.

Just got back from donny, what a top day, chucked it down in the morning but still had fun. The last few sessions were dry however. Quite a few off's in the morning, but nobody injured as far as I know.

Just got home now after dropping Redhils off and unloading the bike I had to do it tonight I`M at work for 6 in th morning.

Had a great day thanx to all who sorted it and worked so hard to pull it off, big thanx to everyone who went for making it a grat day too,
Only fella to get his knee down in the morning was the fella who porposed to his bride to be.

Even though it was a wet start, after dinner when it dried out I did my best to get some fast laps in and did a decent job, didn`t get overtaken too much, had a little dog fight a few times with other bikes but all harmless fun on the day.
I `ll look forward to the next `gixxer junkie track day``
Thanx again to everyone.
Bucko.

Back home too - bike stuck in the garage time for a celebration beer. before work tomorrow :(

Was a top day out - didn't care about the weather. Just had a blast on the 750 as usual. More to come this year !

I sat out he last (and best) session due to no being bothered to change the wet tyres and they had started to squirm a bit the session before.

But a great day out, Doningtons organisation with signing on was a bit hit n miss afair with the paddock announcements asking for the novice group while the briefing was still taking place. But apart from that they did a decent job of getting the sessions turned around.

Oh and the same announcer asking for everyone to turn up for the fireblade photo shoot !

Good to see some familiar faces and names and meet a few new ones.

Hope everyone got home ok after a pretty trouble free day despite the tricky conditions.

Cheers to everyone who I spoke to or met on the day and to the rest of you for making it an enjoyable and memorable day out. - Quality!

Oh and special thanks to tweek for the custard creams ! top girl :D

Anyone up for some RC bike racing :D

We had a good day, was nice to met a few more people from the site. Properly wet in the morning which spoiled the fun a little but you have to open the season somewhere. Our bikes were still on the trailer and we were not kitted up as we didnt arrive until close on 7:30am. By the time we had queued to sign on and got out of the briefing late didnt have time to get out for the first session. Not that it mattered much given the state of the track.

As the price was right it was nice to just try the bike after its been stood so long and had stuff changed about. I had never ridden on Donnington before so had no idea which way the track went and couldnt see much in the morning so wobbled about in the wet. We got two pretty dry sessions in the afternoon which made me pleased I kept the Racetecs on rather than swapping to the wets and was just starting to figure out where to be before the end of the day. At least I've met a few more people and I know the bike is good for a more familiar Cadwell in a few weeks.

Thanks again to those who did the organising and got us onto Donnington at a bargain price. Your efforts are truely appreciated.

well after my headache yesterday goin out to the bike findin it not startin. picked a trailer up, tryin to find me cam leads for the bike finally got on the road at 12 last night got to donny just after 1 am got me head down in the car for a while, woke bout 6 30 to see the rain lol, so i thought mm tex jase get him up and the reply was "f**koff i'm stayin in bed it's rainin" lol

but apart from that i had a crackin day out, didnt go out in the mornin was scared of droppin the new colors so had the suspension set up and went out in the dry, and considerin i aint done any trackdays for 7 years i thought it was ace and a rather hard track to get used to in that time but got 3 sessions in so i was pleased.and got a couple of wheelies in there lol

i thought that photo shoot went brill and that geeza who proposed to his good lady was excellent glad to see a lad with the bottle to do it in front of all us and over the tanoy aswell "good luck fella all the best in the future"

the most important thing to say is a very big thanks for the organisers and to all the junkies that made a crackin day

roll on the next junkies trackday

Absolutely fantastic day. Was great to put faces to names and enjoy the banter off track and on track it was just tops. I think the fact that is was wet am then dry pm made it for me. Gave everyone a chance to sample the differences required in riding styles between both. Just wish I could have seen where I was going in the wet.

I have about 3.8Gb of on-board footage from the inters. Will try to pick out some highlights (eh Shilly :a16: what a guy :nice: ) and post them up. They are a bit dark in places but I mixed my starting points from front of group to middle to rear so most people are in there at some point in both wet and dry sessions.

Once again a massive thanks to Scotty and Zuki for a top day.

Hope everyone who binned it is ok

Let's not wait another year before the next one eh?

See you soon

You must have got me then. Think you came past me once or twice. Thanks to everyone that was in inters that made my bike look slow cos I had 'Dunflops' on. Think that half the group had wets on when we were lined up in the pits! Didn't bin it tho :snowy:

Got about 150 photos to go though and another CD of 400 being posted to me. Also got on board footage of the first session after lunch, although I was not pushing the bike as it was still a bit damp. It was only the last session when I got my Gixxer 750 out that I gave it a good larup.
