View Full Version : Donny spill list...
I'll start!!!
Lowside at Coppice in the wet. What a surprise. My corsa IIIs didn't like the rain. R&Gs did the business and hardly a scratch on the bike. Pride dented a little, but had a fantastic afternoon when it dried up :)
I carnt remember the name of the corner but too much front brake and a low side ended with a broken rear brake lever and a few scrappes. On the first lap of the first session.

Glad I wasnt quite the first then
I completed 1 lap before lowsiding it at Redgate. I think the writing was on the cards as I sat at the front of the fast group waiting to head out for our first session of the day, in front of a mass of trackbikes with wet weather tyres on...doh!
Still, waited for the track to dry and the last 2 sessions of the day were perfect :D

I was right behind you mate. You didn't seem to do a lot wrong - unless you touched the front brake or something?
I was going around the outside of your sliding bike and luckily avoided it and you! Glad you were okay.
I had a little off at McLeans in the last session. I outbraked someone into the corner and realised I'd outbraked myself as well. I stood it up and went through the gravel, keeping it up and then as I went on the grass, about to re-enter the track, I dropped it.
It was very soggy and hard to pick the bike up - but I managed in the end and rode back to the pits with a few clods of mud attached.
Hand's a bit sore today but no damage to me or bike I think.
Cracking day.

Glad someone saw it, 'cause I didn't touch the brakes. It was just cold tyres and me carrying far too much speed for my tyres and the conditions. I mean I remember hitting 4th gear on the straight, then down 2 for the corner - far too much imo for that time of day. prat!
I assume your bike is ok if you dropped it on the grass? Well I suppose its better to drop it there then running into someone or sliding it :)
I had someone drop their bike later in the dry on the esses, right in front of me. Thought I was gonna superman over his bike

That would be me then, getting a bit over confident in the dry, kneedown on quite a few corners, but not thinking that the left side of the tyre wouldn't be as hot as the right!
Front just tucked, looked up saw a whole load of bikes heading towards me, never moved so quick to get out the way!!
Went to pick the bike up and get back on, but the gear lever had snapped!!! Gutted! that was the only damage, oh and scuffed new leathers that I have only worn twice!!!
I went into the gravel on the 1st lap of the 1st session too, managed to keep it upright though but thought fook this I'm going home!!

Yep! I over took a few on Hollywood and Craners on one lap then the curse decided to ensure I went straight on at the Old Hairpin . The old MX skills can in handy to keep me upright though.
I also hand the "Last Session" curse, It was dry I was following a marshall into Mcleans 20mph to fast! *Scarecrow exits stage left":b4: I kept in upright again, just and called it a day.

Saw superfli pushing themselves out of the gravel at the side of Redgate at the start of the second sighting lap of the first session but who binned it first lap at Coppice? And who decided we weren't abiding by the two sighting laps at the brief? You pesky GXR riders. :acute: :lmao:

Could have done with a marshall taking us round at a suitable pace for the first couple of laps tbh. I did feel a bit of pressure to keep the pace up, when I wasnt used to the track, cold tyres etc. Totally my fault for going to the front of the group, was out of my comfort zone.
Big respect to Boffin who managed to keep that pace for the whole session :worship:

Dude I was you're trackday marshal for the first session ;) And to be honest, I thought i'd gone really slowly for the first 5laps and then MadMatt and two other bikes eventually got ahead of me before the end of the session.
Actually it was a bit sedate even for a damp track on the sighting laps. Mind you cold tyres, damp track, inexperience and road tyres are completely different to warmed wets and experience of the fast group. Having said that it was never going to be a full blown trackday and was more of a get together. Being held up shouldn't have bothered anyone and I hope no one was pressured into going faster than they were confortable with given the conditions. A decent rider will find a safe opportunity to get by a slower one especially when amongst friends. Once the first four GSXRs had come past me ignoring the second sighting lap I thought bugger it and ignored it myself. I don't believe I cut anyone up or forced them wide when making passes on them. (Yellow R1 fast group.) If I did humble apologies.
