Zuki said that the last 5 months was like me having a mistress while setting up this TD but yesterday made it all seem worthwhile but I'm quite looking forward to having my life back now
When myself and Zuki arrived on Thursday afternoon we went to meet Caroline armed with chocolate and it was nice to meet her in person after talking to her so much on the phone.
Thank you Tink for sorting Caroline out with a couple of Tshirts and thank you Lauren (baby Smiler) for giving up your Tshirt for her.
I will be writing a letter to Caroline Blythes boss explaining how helpful, friendly and professional she's been and how she has done Track Attack/Donington park proud.:worship:
We had a wander round the museum on Thurs afternoon with GixerRyan, Mrs GixerRyan, scarecrow, Leon, Smeller ;) (I mean Smiler ) and baby Smiler which was cool then went over to the paddock which was buzzing. :D:D:D
Having the crack in our B&B the night before was a really nice way to chill out cos I probably wouldn't of slept with all the things I had running around in my head.
I would like to apologise for being a bit stressed out and a bit snappy with a few people on Thursday and Friday as well as the odd sharp reply to some PM's that I received but in my own defence I so wanted everything to be perfect for everyone although there's no such thing as perfect.
I felt like hiding in the toilet when I saw the rain in the morning but Zuki kept telling me the sun would shine and it would be fine even though she didn't believe it herself really.
She was my rock yesterday and spent all day running around after me trying to keep me calm and making sure I didn't lamp anybody.
Thank you Gemma. XXX
I hate to say this out loud but the briefing was very poor due to lots of people not being able to hear anything and the fact that he missed out lots of things which the first timers wouldn't of even noticed, but, having said that I hope people don't judge Track Attack or Donington on the poor briefing because on a whole they have been and were brilliant.
Bob from race control made the photograph possible and the marshals that I met were all really nice down to earth people.
Race control have a sweep stake at every track day they have on a Friday for how many people come off the track, but on our track day they had one for how many people would be on track in the shape of the photo.
The marshal at Coppice won £27 and a junkies Tshirt for 98 GSXRs on track.
Myself and Zuki didn't go out on track until after dinner which wasn't a bad thing really how ever much I moaned about it at the time but when the funshine came we both had a riot.
From what I heard and noticed myself everyone left their egos at home which was something I was worried about like a few others I think.:ws:
Massive massive thank you to Gez (On board vids), Paul from Trick bits who said he did ok for a rainy day, Steve and Joy from Peak Performance for shutting their shop for the day and doing the 500 mile round trip to set up peoples suspension and giving general advice.:worship:
Tink, Jase750, Tweek, Wookey, Lee and Clare, KJA Busa and wife, a big thank you for everything.
Three people summed the day up for me yesterday.
Zander for doing his first track day, on a GPZ in the rain and crashing but still went out and had a ball and improved in each session from what I saw. :worship:
Yozzer for the wearing the biggest smile and bouncing around looking like he'd just wet his pants.
x21ekx was the icing on the cake.:worship:
He came over to me and said how much fun he was having even though the track was in a right state but I was in the middle on a conversation with someone when it had dried out and he walked past me and said "this is feckin amazing and I just don't want this day to end cos I'm feckin lovin this":lol::lol:
I think everyone should be very proud to be a junkie with the way everyone behaved on and off the track cos I for one felt very proud leaving the circuit last night.:worship: :worship: :worship:
