i live about 30 miles from portrush and last year i was talking to a biker in the town who was from wales and he said he has stayed in derry for the last 6 years because the hotels are cheaper and the people are friendlier than any other place he stayed in. if you decide to stay here i can meet up with you and show you the roads and the way to portrush. this applies to anyone on this site, if you are near here drop me a pm and i'll give you my number for more info

Me and three mates are going all booked up. My mate who booked it went last year for the first time so we let him do all the arranging. Flying out on the 15th to Belfast international hired a car and staying in a B+B in a place I think called Bushmills. God knows how far it is from the circuit? Just hoping the weathers going to be good. :drunk:

I went last year - going again this year. Booked ferry from Cairnryan to Larne cost £95 return. I have rented a 5star, 4 bedroom house for the week costing £550 so thats about £70 each for the full week :) - i find that the best thing to do if a few of you are going. I'll have my bike with me too, my idea of heaven :) can't wait

Oh forget to tell ya - last year spent the journey home on ferry chatting to John Mcguiness and Steve Platter, Ian Hutchinson was a bit tired and not really up for chatting! kinda wish i'd have seen Bruce Anstey aw well maybe this year!

bushmills isn't far from the circuirt but the traffic is mental on race day, you'll need to aim to arrive at the track at about 7am!

i was chatting to a cop yesterday while i was putting my lid on and i was thinking "gone feck off to i start this thing", but the fecker noticed my exhaust and said that it looked different and he wanted to hear the "pitch" off it. I started the bike, the cop put his fingers in his ears and walked away laughing. Later on i got pulled in coleraine and fined £30 by a friggin' woman :sb:

I'm sure i'll meet you at another road race very soon :friends:

Well I got back on from spending a week in Northern Ireland, what an absolutely amazing place, the costal route is breathtaking and the weather was really nice. The atmosphere on Saturday race day was very emotional due to the unfortunate accident resulting in the death of Robert Dunlop, I have never seen as many people honour a silence before. The first race of the day was the 250cc which Michael Dunlop won - this somehow lifted the mood of the day and everyone seemed to enjoy the rest of the racing.. I had the best time ever!

A massive big up to the Relentless Crew for being such a great team :)

got to say in the superbike race the relentless bikes seemed so much faster slipstreaming or not - superb, but plater on the brakes now that was just class!

well i have to say the NW200 this year was both one of the sadest and one of the most enjoyable one for me that i have been to in the last 4 years.

After travelling to the airport on friday morning not knowing the full story on what happened the night before, we landed in belfast to find most of the papers having it as there front page story. We travelled to the circuit to the point at mathers cross where robert dunlop had lost his life the night before to find one massive floral tribute to him already with fans standing there trying to come to terms as to what happened. He will be sadly missed.

Then we come to saturday a highly emotional start to procedings with a silence to honour robert before the 250's came out on the grid in which micheal his son won, how he found the inner strength to do it i would never know.

the rest of the days racing was fast tight and very thrilling which made for good entertainment thruout the whole day.

roll on next year
