Hello peeps.

This is just a quick shot in the dark here, but here goes:

Ive just graduated from uni (Jun 2006) with a 2:1(hons) in motorsport technology BSc. Ideally Im after a job in the motorsport industry, with motorbikes a strong preference. Does anyone have any contacts with any british racing teams that may (or may not) be looking for someone thats loves getting stuck in with oily bits, and has a good grasp of what makes things faster and how to develop them? Based around Silverstone would be nice, although I would travel anywhere as long as the work is there and I could persuade the GF to go with me.

Any info is most certainly welcome as the hardest bit is just simply getting your foot in the door). After that, Im sure my charm, wit, magnetic personality and tea making skills will do the rest for me (or see me sailing over the threshold during a quick departure, lmao)

Thanks for any info :)

Good Luck people pay to do that lol...as for 'oily bits' have you seen F1 pits? they have surgical gloves on not cos it's dirty but because it's like an operating theatre.

I knew a HGV driver who used to drive one of the artics and there used to be a queue my great grandchildren couldn't get on.

Thats F1 but aim a little lower at the local sponsored teams and you might stand a chance.

You sound like you have the ability just need the foot in the door like you say - if you were round here I would contact Lotus at Hethel other than that buy the mags related to Racing and check out the Ads in the back, I have seen alot in there especially for Uni Grads etc.

Good Luck Friend

remember when you get there we tried to help you.....free tickets VIP passes etc hint hint lol

Will do!

Like you say, F1 is very clean and tidy. Not enough grease monkery for me I think, far too many computers and not enough spanners. Thats why Id prefer the bike world or WRC, it seems a little more down to earth.

I'm sure F1 does have the dirty work. It's just everything is clean that goes to the track. A lot of F1 teams have moved to England. The research and development side of the house would be where I think you could best look. The teams have websites.

Cheers.

One of my good friends from uni who graduated with the same degree as me has been offered a job at this place. He plans on taking up the role as soon as he has finished some madness called the "Mongol Rally". Wish him the best. As for me, Im not really interested in F1. The technology they use and develop is above and beyond and the pay packets are the size of breeze blocks, but its just too clinical for me I think. Thanks for the info anyways m8 :)
