They are pretty good about moving you around , if there is the space in the next group, but you can only ask .

Looks like they've changed the International circuit since last year! Instead of the crappy tarmac and chicane thing onto the start-finish straight, you now turn right behind the pits, then a left-handed hairpin (hooray!) and through turn 4 of the oval (scarey!!) to finish the lap.

Bikes don't run on any of the oval's turns for that very reason.... Hislop in 01 found that out.

Just checked on Rockingham's own website. You're right...
Didn't mind the chicane-thing too much (as a 600 rider, it's my natural habitat) but the tarmac was terrible and the sudden transfer from infield to banking, with your left knee on the deck, was 'interesting'

I just looked at the NL website and it says about leather etc. My jacket and trousers zip together roughly 2 thirds of the way, but not at the front...is this gonna be ok? (both Arlen Ness sports stuff).

Being new to all this, tyre pressures etc are a mystery to me on track is there plenty of help there with pressures etc as I dont want to be running to soft or hard lol.

Will I have to wear a spaz Hi-Viz?

I plan on riding up with a mate who I have persuaded to do it also (so add a +1 for me please Mark :)). What happenes with Fuel etc can you buy it there cos we wont be bringing nothing with us...

no you wont have to wear a spaz high viz.

tyre pressures if its a warm day 29/30 will do fine. there will be a million and one people there with footpumps and pressure gauges for you to adjust it at the track,

what tyres are you on and how old are they?

fuel station just by the pits but it doesnt open till lunch time and is a tiny bit expensive. so fuel up just before you get there then you will have plenty for the morning sessions before the fuel station opens.

As long as its at least 180 degrees then it will be fine

for what its worth I wouldn't be concerned with running a plugged tire to either.....some would.

I only ask the tire question as if there is one thing that is worth spending money on its your tires...Even if you dont plan on mullering around you want as fresh and new as possible with the profile perfect. No point making the day harder than it needs to be or increasing your chances of a lowside by turning up with a slightly squared rear tire or even worse a worn front.

hard to tell just from a laptime..Go on gut feeling...if last time you where there you where running at the front end of the inters and you feel confident then go for a play in fast.

I was in fast group and got on fine. Not the fastest out there but not the slowest either.

Doddy, I run my Mallory gearing 14/47. It's probably better with a 15 front as the multi apex left in the middle of the circuit goes on for ages and I usually find I'm nearly topping out in third.

That said there's some really slow corners, so the gearing works really well then.

Theres a guy on ebay who does a full set for £200 and he has plenty of positive feedback on the r6 fairings if i remember right. I will look him up and post a link as i am sure hes in my favourites.

Excellent day had at Rockingham today, despite the slight dampness! ;)

Had more sessions that I was expecting as the forecast rain largely held off for most of the day.

Less red flags than the last time we had a GJ track day there as well. :)

Really good to meet up with Merlin and K6mart again, although next time Mart you will have to get some track time.

Also met ScottyH and anothe GJ on a black k4 1000, ( I must apologise for forgetting your name already!).

Look forward to seeing you all again at the next event.
