Hy heart goes out to all his family, friends and fans too.
How much longer can road racing be allowed to continue taking lives...............
Time to put an end to it all.

Seconded. Darran and all of the road racers would agree that the reason they do road racing is because they are of a very small breed of racers who can. That's what makes them the men and women that they are. Guy Martin is a very close mate of mine and i have spent many hours in his company discussing why road racers are the men and women (maria costello) they are. (real road racers. not these short circuit guys).
The fact that they can do something that thousands of others can't is exactly what drives them to do it. In Guy's case, he isn't doing it for the crowd, fame, money or anything else, he is doing it purely and simply for self satisfaction. All he wants to do in life is win the senior race of the TT.
I don't think this thread is the right place for this discussion so i'll start one up in polls.
I met Darran on a few occasions and never could understand a bloody word he was saying, but he was always the life and soul of the paddock. Ever leqarking round the corner of a van, ready to play a practical joke on someone. Great bloke who will be sadly missed.

I fully understand that it is their choice to do it but IMO I feel that road racing is getting too dangerous.
Just seems like a lot of riders are losing their lives at the moment.
