Got back this evening after a 600 mile journey home.

We at Phase one had a difficult weekend.

I arrived at the circuit at 3am after a 600 mile trip and had to sleep in my car with my 3 passengers!
Wednesday
started with a 8am team breifing followed by a 2 hour practice session and it was dry and sunny (but that was short lived) and we knew from the first that we had to work hard with set up. After lunch we did pit practice where we got our wheel change down to 8.7 seconds. then we prepped bikes for the next days free practice. our day ended at 10:30pm.

Thursday

7:30 am start

Morning we woke up and it was raining this was to be the first of 2 very wet days!

We had practice (wet) and we were puzzled with grip problems. the afternoons 1st qualifing was nearly a wash out as we had a hudge thunderstorm and had rivers running everywhere.

This was folowed by Night practice where it was still raining so we could only work on wet set up but the track is so shinney because it has been polished by the F1 cars the riders said it's like an ice rink !

Finnished work at 12 midnight.

Ok must get some sleep now will post more tomorrow night.

ok I will continue with my report

Friday

8 am start.

Final Qualifing.

Wet yet again !

All three riders have seperate sessions to finaly sort out grid positions, the Senior bike finnishes 22nd and the juniors around the 40's.

Now both bikes were fully rebuilt and fitted with their new Superbike spec engines (180+ bhp at rear wheel) this race prep lasts around 8 hours but the senior bike had major changes made to it to try and stop the wheel spin issue .Day ended at 11:30 pm.

Off to bed as this will be the last nights sleep before the race.

Saturday

Race day Dry at last.

8 am start yet again followed by the warm up session where we had chance to see if the set up changes worked.

The riders reported it was alot better but still not right but thats what they had to race with.

3pm Race start 54 bikes set off for 24hrs of racing.

The day for both bikes went well and they made steady progress through the feild, night falls and still running well on slicks untill around 2am when the Junior bike started to suffer cold tearing so we had to switch compounds to a softer one.

senior bike was running in the top 10 and junior bike in the top 20.

Sunrise and dispite light mist all was ok bikes were still running well.

Light rain fell around 11 am and panic started know one new what tyres to run with but we sent out our wet riding god on inters but he crashed trying to avoid another crash, he remounts and rides back to pits. The damage is light and a new rear set was fitted and new belly pan and he went out on wets. mean while the junior bike went down as well and was still ok to ride.

we finnished the race of with one bike on wets and the other on Cut slicks.

The senior bike finnished 6th and the junior bike finnished 13th.

which meant final championship standings were seniors 3rd and the juniors 9th.

Not bad for a bunch of part timers !

we then packed the trucks and went to the party. but after being awake for 31 hours I finaly gave in at 10:30 pm and went to bed.

Monday

Just a 16 hour trip home.

heres a few picks team photo I am second from the left standing.

Excellent, so you do this for nothing? TBH I looked at getting involved in the motorsport sector just after Uni but it was more a case of who you know than what you know to get into a decent job. Kinda wish I had still tried though but I dont think a lot people appreciate how much work goes on behinds the scenes.
