Today i thought i'd better give the bike a good clean after a cracking day at anglesey.
So i starts my usual routine, when i came across this

Ops springs to mind  i was speaking to Jim on the day and i mentioned about a little moment on the first corner after the start/finish straight where it felt like my pegs decked out, and both tyres lost grip and the whole bike drifted wide.
I checked my pegs and found nothing so thought "it was just a moment":notsure:
Well obviously not
Anyone have any idea's how i can prevent it happening again ??
Last thing i want is for the engine sliders decking out again :HB:

they are there for a reason..if you would rather have yr engine casing rubbing take them off ;0)

 I was thinking of something along the lines of raising the bike??? dont want my engine sliders dragging on the floor when i go around a corner

 i was hanging like the perverbial monkey
I kept trying to catch thou's on my little 6 so in my mind i kept thinking "corner speed, corner speed"
The R & G's are designed to protect your engine casings, trouble is they reduce your ground clearence.
Only way to sort it is to fit Woodcraft cases which are better protection than the R & G and keep your original case profile.
Or you could just buy a Kawasaki, i had no clearance issues but i shagged my right slider & wore the toeslider down, wouldn't have wanted the peg to deck out next though!!

I might go down the road of woodcraft :D
Finish off what the track started, machine a bigger chamfer?

Didn't think of that one

Raise the ride height by an equal amount front and rear
Woodcraft case's are nice BUT a big off will see the case hit hard, and thus more energy will transfer to the crank cases, making them more likely to be damaged (may be a moot point, if your bike is flying, it's gonna be wrecked anyway)
I use the bolt on cases that Crescent sell, but are made by http://www.gbracing.eu/. The idea is they will help your engine survive a slide, but come off in a big high-side style wack.(they also reduce ground clearance, but as I'm crap it doesn't matter!)
John
cracking an engine case aint fun just done it on a highside and replaced the motor poo
do your sliders help in a highside

I managed to grind half my peg away as well as half my boot!
I thought the front had slipped slightly at the last corner but.........

If a set of Woodcraft cases don't save your engine, then your crash is so big your not likey to be salvaging much at all!
I highside coming out of Coppice at 120 plus(bike was 30 foot in the air according to marshal), the bike was destroyed, but the engine was saved by the Woodcraft cases
are woodcraft simaler to nrc covers sorry im learning a little here scuse the semi hijack

Fair enough, like crash bungs I guess, same number of users as opinions

yes, but woodcraft have replaceable sliders on the generator cover, and are made from billet rather than cast.
Interestingly, both NRC and Woodcraft claim they're manufacture process is better than the other, for opposite reasons!
John
NRC are sand cast, but they say they are up to three time thicker then standard. Woodcraft I always thought were more for show.

I was thinking about a set of these for my bike, but they seem a bit pricey. Did you get a discount?
As said if you launch your bike big style its going to lunch the engine anyway.

I would just take them off they look like they are losing you a bit of clearance!

yes, less than half price from ebay

not what I meant. Like crash bungs, all have good and bad points, but if these absorb some of the impact, a bit like deformable crash protection in a car, then serious engine damage is less likely imo
