Yep, did the school a while ago. Did the 600 one with 1 instructor to 2 'pupils', An absolutely brilliant day, all gear and bikes provided for our thrashing! It will depend on your instructor, but they are all ex race guys so know how to ride a bike! My mate who came with me couldnt ride for shit at the start of the day, thruppny bitting round corners and braking 2 miles from corners etc but by the end of the day he was much improved! Wont shout about it, but I got a score of 95% and came top of the class! Didnt tell them Id worn through the calf of their brand new boot though!
If you meet Ron or Ann they are top peeps, just dont let Ron ride your bike, he got no mercy! Blew my race bike clutch up when we put it on his dyno at his place, then I spose its better there than on track!
Strongly recommend if you jave any desire to trackday or race, though you'll learn stuff you can use on the road too!

yeps I have done the 600's and blades 2 seasons ago and had a great time, but not 100% sure if it is worth the price tag. The first time on the 600's was probably the best cos we went as part of my mates stag night and then spent the night in a local hotel getting p***ed and telling everyone how good we all were.

Fully agree with Motomoik that it depends who your instructor is and if you don't get from him what you want then COMPLAIN, cos Ron insists on a quality service.

If you ain't done a track day then this is a good way to start.

If you don't mind using your own bike, focused events will provide one on one instruction for about £150 on top of the price of a tack day

i did the 600 ,if you havent been on a track day before it would be worth it but like us we have done loads it was a waste of money defernetly for the first timers

Good Thread!!

I really fancy doing a track day but haven't, my mate did one a few years back and they gave him a Ducati and he though it was the bollocks.

Being honest, I really don't fancy throwing my own up the road (again!!) so I wouldn't mind paying the extra.

I've been hinting like mad to the GF that this is what I want for my Christmas.... I hope she has been listening or she might be an Ex GF… LOL!!!

What other schools are there who do similar?

http://www.superbikeschool.co.uk/ do 4 (I think) levels from beginner to hardcore, but I think if you use there bikes you'll have to slum it on an R6 ;)

Fooking Hell, they're not cheap & for an R6 too - extra £199 + £500 crash deposit!! that makes Ron's deal very good at £250 all in!!

Yup, an expensive day if your not using your own bike. The chances of dropping your bike on one of these days is surely less than on a normal track day... isn't it?

The CSS courses go beyond what you can expect from the Haslam days though from what I've heard. I've no experience of either so it's just what I've gleamed from talking to others.

I'd love to be in a position to do the superbike school course. I reckon I'll risk doing it on my own bike thought if I do them at some point.

Well I've done level's 1 & 2 at superbike school and will be doing level 3 next year. I cant fault em. Its a full day of learning with plenty of track time (on par with normal track days) with classroom sesssions as well. The instruction is 1 instructor to 2 students on track and is realy good. You dont have to hire one of their bikes you can use your own, If you do use their bike the crash deposit is just a rubbing of your credit card, that they give you back at the end of the day, if you do lob it they charge you for the damaged caused up to a maximum £500 (wich I beleive is a regular thing if you hire a track bike from anyone).

did the 600 class as my 1st trackday and it was good. trouble is , if you are paired with a slower rider you are only allowed to go at their pace!!! the fireblade one was a waste o mioney really, it was raining heavy an my instructor who was a bsb former rider would only go slow and kept telling me to back off, even when i complained that i could gop much quicker in my own safety zone!! wife did the pillion experience wi ron as pilot and they were wheelieing at 130 mph down front straight, she said it was the best experience ever!!!!! er no dirty comments plz lol
