View Full Version : *** 1st Ever JUNKIES TRACK DAY ADVANCE WARNING ***
Ok lads n lasses. I have spoken with Mark at No Limits who offer Junkies a discount on track days. http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/ (http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/)
They have a Track day at Cadwell Park on Monday 9th April 2007 ( thats Easter Bank Holiday Monday)
He is holding the entire Novice and Inters Section for us 30 places per group and 10 places in fast group ( but more available if needed)
If we get more then thats not a problem unless the group u want is fully booked.
Price is £119 per person this includes the Junkies discount ( Should be £130)
A deposit of £30 can be paid to No Limits upon booking and then the balance must be paid in full by end of February 2007 !! If we dont fill all the places then they will be put on General sale
Last year there were 10 - 12 of us that did Cadwell over the same weekend and about 30 people turned up to watch us and it was a very good day
Lots of people have expressed an interest in doing a track day so maybe we can make this a day to remember and also a big meet up, you can camp at Cadwell or theres lots of hotels around the area, Horncastle and Louth are close by.
It doesnt matter if youre a total beginner and have never done a track day before or an Expert, come along and have a day to remember
If you are seriously interested in coming a long either add your name and what group you would like to be in to this post and i will keep add your name and desired group to this post. This will help to work out how many places we need No Limits to hold for us
Tink
Once you have booked pm me and i will confirm you on the list ( if youre not on the list dont worry ( its open to all Junkies members remember 1st come 1st served so if your name is on list below and you got my PM then it is in YOUR interest to get it booked and deposit paid 01727 899173
Possibles so far (can always remove you from list and just cause u on it dont mean u have committed )

And if it's too much for you ,you can always move groups

good evening guys
for a track day virgin i think i am doing ok, ive only gone and bought myself a track bike, its an ikkle vfr400 and i have been informed it will be well spankable around crashwell park, our lass says she put her foot down and said i am not allowed to track my shiney new gixer...so i had to go get another bike, pick it up on saturday...
i think a bit of winter tinkering and some new boots on it i should be good to go...
only problem is its a honda, but if i am going to drop it, it might as well be a honda:a14: :a14: :a14: :a14: :a14: :a14:

Take a look at the Cadwell site (http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/cadwell-park/circuits/cadwell-park.asp) for accomodation links nearby.
Last time I went to cadders I camped overnight in the paddock. If that is still possible will do the same again.

Oh well more stuff to buy for next year, anyone now how big a gennie I'd need to run a set of warmers?
depends on the tyre warmers most are 1700 watts so thats 1.7KW so a 2KVA genny would run them just !

Yes you can Tweek, If I remember right, it's a fiver a night (can't remember if it's per person or tent) - but it could also be free. They have shower and good toilet facilities there. if you arrive late, you can still camp on the field by the entrance gate for free. we have arrived there at 10pm before now and pitched up there with quite a few others doing so too.
If you can get inside, it's good fun if someone brings a disposable BBQ and a few tinnies....you can also walk the track at night

People keep saying they're going to be camping at Cadwell... are we actually allowed to camp onsite do you know for sure?
I camped in the maddock last time I was there. So unless MSV have put up a big fence like at Oulton then it should be OK.
Worth checking for sure tho !
yeah tis a long way for me don't wanna get there and be like fook where can I sleep  Tink can you chat to the guys running the day and double make sure please
No problem with camping at Cadwell Tweek but will double check just for you :)
tink can you take me out of novice and put me into inters cheers doddy
The other thing I was going to ask... is about the groups guys are going in... cause it seems like a well big mix, on who's going where... if I'm at brands I'd be going into inters after 2 evenings was getting under a min on the indi course, but there's no way I'd be going into inters on a track I don't know (esp with people like SradMatt going into inters)
Would it be best to ask the guys when I book it? it's just I see people on here that I know how fast they ride on the road and the track and it seems a bit all over the place

I'd still go in inters some of the riders in the novice group are lethal you'll soon get the hang of where the track goes, you'll be up to speed second session !

whats that meant to mean!!! :diablo:
Swings and roundabouts though isn't it? Never done a day before either so only ever been in the slow out the slow/fast choice... tis just I don't wanna be that lethal slow person in the first session that's causing a back up
go in inters then you could always move if you feel pressured
whats that meant to mean!!! :diablo:
Ha ha ummm :b6: means you're a ****ing nutter that goes into the fast group at brands and goes shed loads faster than me, has loads more track exp than me and is racing next year
Good enough answer? :kissmyass

that'l be you soon tweek!!
i might be intrested! either novice or inter's! can you swap groups on the day?
I've mooved to the begginers group coz I think its more sensible. I'm not good under pressure so would rather be held up if I'm as fast as my bravado thinks but don't want to be dangerous, Already been told today that I use bizarre lines when cornering so safer for me to go in the slow group!

Just have faith in yourself, at the end of the day everyones there to have fun and if anyone pisses you off then I'm sure there'll be enough of us junkies there to sort the problem out :a5: :b6:

so when are we getting on and putting the deposits down before the places go out to none junkies? will be good to just have us lot taking over the track!
I have just been on the phone to No Limits
Mark is on last track day of the year today and should have confirmation that they have Cadwell for 9th April this week.
As soon as he knows hes gonna let me know then people can pay deposits to No Limits to hold their places
Theres normally30 per group so 90 per day, we have almost 45 want to do it on the list so that would be great if all on list booked
While im at it what about looking for one later in the year at maybe Mallory or Donington !
sounds good to me, the more the merrier, always fancied donnington but either or will suit me

Stick me down for the 2nd day too - preferably Donny as I haven't got the best record with mallory - 4 track days - 5 accidents - 1 demolished bike - 3 damaged.
Any places left then?
For which day, just sorting the Cadwell 1 to start with, the list on the 1st page is just an estimate, No Limits havent even put the it on sale yet so we have 1 bite at the cherry and normally 90 places available
What group u want Slappy ?
I've not done Cadwell yet so stick me in Inter's for the morning and i'll get Mark etc to move me up in the afternoon mate.
Cheers.

Tink.......put me down for Cadders in the NOVICE group most definitely......
By the way guys and gals there are some very reasonable B & B's up there stayed just down the road on a "Crew" day last year.......£ 30-£35 per night
Also I was slowest of the slow and did'nt get any grief off of anyone and had the embarrassment of going into the kitty litter on the second sighting lap in the afternoon::imwithstu
OK latest update
Spoke to No Limits today and they should be able to confirm that they have Cadwell by end of next week. They will ring me as soon as its confirmed
Price should be same as last year which is £120 but we get a 10% discount on that so that will bring it down to about £108
I asked about August Bank holiday and it looks like they have Snetterton scheduled in to their calendar !!
